Freshly arrived in Australia and the first trip back to Europe is already planned. I am proud to announce that BAAS has been granted 45 minutes to do a workshop at the World Social Marketing Conference in Edinburgh. The workshop will be about Boosting Motivation in change projects. Participants will experience how to get motivated themselves and what ingredients they could use to ignite intrinsic motivation.
What is the workshop about?
As change experts we like to share our knowledge and show how the application of behavioural science can benefit project outcomes. However, sharing knowledge might not be enough to affect real change. Because let’t be honest: how many times do you generally follow someones advice if they tell you how to do things? Maybe we have to do more than sharing knowledge. BAAS has created a co-creative approach that focusses on creating alternating experiences together. In this workshop participants will experience how intrinsic motivation is activated and how you can use that as a recipe to activate behavioural change.
What is Social Marketing?
Social Marketing is an approach used to change behaviour for the benefit of improving public health, sustainability and other societal problems. At the moment it is the most progressive movement internationally to affect positive change. The term ‘marketing’ is used because principles from commercial marketing are used to benefit social problems in society. Luke van der Beeke was the first to introduce me to this movement in 2017 and I was very surprised to find so many like-minded professionals dedicated to apply social science.
